Miles Robinson & Co was established as a corporate finance & management consultancy in May 1993 providing financial advice to growing private companies and acting as private investor in some (see below).


In May 1994 a 32.5% stake in a specialist industrial cleansing company was acquired, in partnership with 3i Group plc, and MR assumed the responsibility of hands-on finance director. Investment disposed of 1997.

In June 1996 a 25% interest was acquired in a credit insurance and bonding brokerage in Sevenoaks and MR assumed a non-executive position advising on strategic development of the business and broking (in an executive capacity) on specialist cases. Investment disposed of 2004.

In September 1997 a 49% interest in a company specialising in bespoke structural steel buildings and related equipment in East Sussex was acquired and MR assumed a non-executive position advising on management information systems and financial control. Investment disposed of 2001.

In March 2001 a 15% interest in a food manufacturing company supplying the major supermarkets was acquired in partnership with two other investors and MR assumed a non-executive position advising on management information systems and financial control. Investment disposed of 2003.
